Scope of Work: The work to be done in general consists of mobilization; preparatory work, securing the work area for public safety, and daily site cleanup, clearing and grubbing, traffic control; water pollution control program; cold planing of asphalt pavement; placement of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) inlay; installation of shoulder backing from AC grinding; constructing AC base failure repairs and HMA plugs; lowering and raising of utility covers to finish grade; removal & replacement of traffic striping and pavement markings; and all other work shown on the Plans and specified in the Project Specifications. The Bid Form must be accompanied by bid security of ten percent of the maximum bid amount, in the form of a cashier's or certified check made payable to City, or a bid bond executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California on the Bid Bond form included with the Contract The bid security must guarantee that within ten days after City issues the Notice ofPotential Award, the successful bidder will execute the Contract and submit the payment and performance bonds, insurance certificates and endorsements, and any other submittals required by the Contract Documents and as specified in the Notice ofPotential Award. The successful bidder will be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each for 100% ofthe Contract Price, as further specified in the Contract Documents. The Project must be fully completed within 40 working days (weekends and holidays excluded) from the start date set forth in the Notice to Proceed. City anticipates that the Work will begin in late August or early September 2025 but the anticipated start date is provided solely for convenience and is neither certain nor binding. License. This Project requires a valid California contractor's license for the following classifications: Class "A," General Engineering Contractor or Class "C-12," Earthwork and Paving Contractor.
