The bid or proposal must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, with such security payable to Lower Pottsgrove Township. The successful contractor shall be required to furnish performance and payment bonds and insurance certifications as required by the SpecificationsThe services (bids) solicited will not be awarded to multiple bidders, but will be awarded as a single contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder as determined to be in the best interest of the Township.) The successful bidder shall be responsible for the collection, transportation and disposal of residential solid waste (as defined in the Specifications) and the transportation and processing of Recyclable Materials for a period of five (5) years, subject to two (2) additional one (1) year extensions. Bids will be accepted for same-day curbside collections of solid waste and recyclable materials once each week as more fully described in the Instructions to Bidders, General Specifications and Detailed Specifications. There will also be an option for curbside collection of solid waste two (2) times each week. All bids will be opened and read aloud at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, August 6, 2025, at the Lower Pottsgrove Township Municipal Building, 2199 Buchert Road, Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. All bid proposals shall remain valid through Monday, October 6, 2025, to provide sufficient time for the Township Commissioners to complete their evaluation and consideration of the bids. The Township reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and waive any informalities in the bid.
