**As of July 28, 2025 this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established.** The Kenai Peninsula Borough hereby invites qualified firms to submit a firm price for acceptance by the Borough to place gravel on the following Central, North, South, East and West Region Roads. The project consists of the following: ITB25-070 Gravel Project - South Region Unit 7 Clayton Way, 556 cubic yards KPB Type II This contract is subject to the provision of State of Alaska, Title 36, Minimum Wage Rates. The subsequent contract will require certificates of insurance and may require performance and payment bonds. Q & A Deadline 06/24/2025 09:00 PM EDT Questions may be submitted through the online questions and answers section of this bid on online faxed to (907) 714-2373 or emailed to purchasing@kpb.us. The subject line of the email should read, Questions: ITB25-070 Gravel Project FY26 - South Region Unit 7. This project will consist of gravel upgrades on CLAYTON WAY. The project will begin at KACHEMAK CITY LIMITS, 875' NORTH of the intersection of EAST END ROAD and CLAYTON WAY. From KACHEMAK CITY LIMITS the project will continue NORTH on CLAYTON WAY for 1,500 linear feet. See attached map. Roads shaded in red represent the project parameters. Work will include, but not be limited to prepping road for gravel cap (grade and shape), cap the existing road with KPB TYPE II Borrow. Results from a current gradation test must be submitted prior to work commencing. A gradual transition will be required at each end of the project as well as all driveways. No excavation is proposed. Borrow must be compacted to at least 95% compaction of the maximum density. All work will comply with KPB Chapter 14.06 Road Standards, and applicable sections of the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities "STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION 2004". Since the disturbed area is less than one acre, a SWPPP is not required; however, the contractor will be responsible for controlling any storm water so that it does not leave the construction area. According to the State of Alaska Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), small and minority businesses, women's business enterprises, veteran owned businesses, and labor surplus area firms are encouraged to bid.
