Jefferson County Facilities Management requires the replacement of roof decks at the Indian Hills and Lookout Mountain Road and Bridge shops. This current Pro Panel steel assembly has hail damaged and needs to be replaced. This claim will be covered by a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grant and requires all Federal requirements to be adhered to (i.e. Buy America clause, Davis-Bacon Wage rates for Time and Materials). The Work consists of: 1) Replace Roofing Systems - Deck 1: a) Demolition: At the areas indicated on the two Roof Plans, remove the existing ridge cap assembly. Remove any sheets metal flashing and trim materials not indicated to remain. b) Install a layer of 3" thick isocyanurate foam insulation trimmed to fit between the standing seams of the existing metal roof panels. c) Cover the insulation layer with a layer of 5/8" thick CDX plywood. Simultaneously fasten the foam insulation and plywood to the underlying existing metal roofing. d) Set an underlayment ply of modified bitumen ice and water guard over the plywood sheathing. e) Install a 24 gauge pre-finished sheet metal roof system over the new underlayment ply. f) Provide new sheet metal flashing and counterflashings. g) Provide a written 20 year warranty covering the new roofing material and labor in a leak free state at a no-dollar limit. Also provide a roofing contractor's two year written warranty covering the new roofing system in a leak free state. 2) Repair Roofing - Decks 2, 3 & 4: a) Prime the surface of the existing metal roofing. b) Seal the panel endlap seams and rake flashing seams with acrylic elastomeric paste. c) Apply a top coat of silicone elastomeric coating. d) Provide a roofing contractor's two year written warranty covering the roofing system repair in a leak free state.
