Estimate: $1 - $1.4 Million Description of the Work A. The Project generally includes the removal and cleaning of the existing Headcell_ unit and associated grit chamber, in addition to the replacement of existing valves, piping, and mechanical grit washing and dewatering equipment. B. Removed grit is to be placed in the Owner's containers by the Contractor, for disposal by the Owner. Contractor shall provide and utilize drainage boxes or other mechanical dewatering equipment to dewater the grit prior to placing grit in Owner's containers. Grit shall not be placed on the ground at any time. C. Contractor to re-install and test the existing Headcell_ unit after grit chamber cleaning. Demolition and disposal of existing equipment includes concrete equipment bases/supports, grit pump discharge pipe and valves, grit teacup, and classifier. New equipment to be installed and tested includes grit pumps, valves, piping, and mechanical grit washing and dewatering equipment. D. Contractor to provide and install temporary bypass piping from the Lift Station pump discharge to the collection box downstream of the grit chamber.
