Reference Number 0000391447 Aurora Water underwent a study to identify facilities that were no longer in use and can come off-line within the near future. This phase of the project involves the demolition of the Prologis Lift Station and the abandonment of the associated 8-inch force main up to exist flow meter manhole. The site will be graded and restored to pre-existing conditions. All above ground appurtenances will be removed to 3-feet below grade and all below grade structures will be filled with sand. Aurora Water Operations discovered issues at the storm structure at the 6th Ave and Del Mar Circle locations. Operations were notified of a sinkhole forming in the roadway because of a collapsed corrugated metal pipe (CMP) storm pipe. However, the City has no record of the CMP's existence and it was not in the City's GIS system. The initial site investigation found the CMP operates as the low point of the local storm system leading to the pooling of water in the structure. Staff suspects the CMP pipe corroded due to age which led to the collapse and failure of the roadway. PRE-QUALIFICATION Prime Contractors have been pre-qualified for this Invitation to Bid. Bids shall not be accepted from firms other than those pre-qualified firms on this solicitation. This advertisement is for the sole purpose of identifying this procurement action to potential subcontractors who may wish to participate through the selected prime contractor. Bonding Requirements - Bid Bond 5 % Each Bid shall be accompanied by an appropriate guarantee in the form of a Bid Bond made payable to the City of Aurora in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid. In addition, the bid guarantee shall be accompanied in the same file as the bid. Failure to complete the work as prescribed shall be considered as a Breach of Contract and subject to Liquidated Damages which are $400.00 per day. The Contract Documents require that all work be Substantially Complete by October 1, 2025, with Final Completion by November 1, 2025. The estimated cost for this project is from $200,000.00 to $280,000.00. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
