Tender for Roadside Ditching The Work outlined in this RFT is to provide all labour, equipment and materials necessary to perform roadside ditching as required at various locations within the City of Hamilton. The Work also includes all necessary flushing of entrance culverts, restorations within the road right-of-way including, but not limited to, culvert end-treatments, restoration seeding and/or sod restoration, and site cleanup. Based on the amount of Work, the Contractor may be required to mobilize multiple crews to complete the Work within the allowable Work schedule. The City Project Manager will provide a list of final Working locations at the pre-construction meeting. Working locations in this Contract may be located within areas regulated by a Conservation Authority. The Contractor will be working under permits obtained by the City. The Contractor must adhere to the conditions of the permit(s). Permits will be provided to the Contractor at the prestart meeting. For each ditching location, the Contractor shall mobilize the appropriate labour and equipment necessary, based on the ditch size, condition of the surrounding environment, and to carry out the Works in an efficient manner, while imposing minimal impact to the roadway users and the adjacent natural environment. The City recommends that bidders visit the locations provided in Appendix A as site conditions and depths may vary The lengths shown in Appendix A are given to provide the approximate locations of the Work. The ditch cleaning lengths reflected in the maps are for informational purposes only and do not reflect the estimates in the Schedule of Prices. The City reserves the right to add and/or delete ditching locations at any time throughout the Contract. There may be some additional ditching locations that may be identified at the time of construction.
