The Project consists of removing and replacing an approximately 30 LF of 8 wide by 7 high box culvert with associated headwalls, wingwalls, and storm drainage pipe in the immediate project area. The replacement box culvert will be approximately 35 LF in length, 9 wide by 5 high, with associated headwalls, wingwalls, new storm drainage pipe, a new junction box, and a water main conflict resolution. PN=060.14.3.22 The work to be performed and provided under this Contract shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, safety equipment, taxes, profit, overhead, and other costs and effort required for demolition of the existing box culvert under the southern section of Brookwood Circle and replacement with a GDOT standard design box culvert (9' wide x 5' high x 35' long), with associated headwall, wingwall and parapet structures, parapet enhancements and handrails, along with removal of 8 LF of 12" reinforced concrete drainage pipe (RCP) and 16 LF of 24" RCP, construction of a new concrete junction box and 14 LF of 24" RCP, cutting, capping and abandoning an existing active gas main and other pipes believed to be no longer in use but passing through the existing box culvert, and construction of a water main conflict resolution to disconnect and reconnect an existing water main that passes through the project area. Bidder is to review carefully all notes on the plans regarding the unidentified pipes. The time allotted for final completion of work is one hundred twenty (120) consecutive calendar days. Every request for such interpretation should be made in writing and addressed to Bill Jones, GWES, LLC, 733 Carroll Street, Perry, Ga. 31069 or email at william.jones@gwesllc.com, and to be given consideration must be received no later than Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 5:00 p.m The work to be performed and provided under this Contract shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, safety equipment, permitting, erosion and sedimentation control measures, taxes, profit, overhead, and other costs and effort required to complete the following: Project Location: The project area comprises an approximately 0.14 acre area situated along the southern section of Brookwood Circle just to the west of Legion Drive in the City of Covington. The project area is primarily public right-of-way, with temporary disturbances to occur on private property and within Waters of the State in the perennial stream known as Town Branch. The project area is a quiet residential neighborhood. The Contractor shall not unnecessarily disturb the peace of the neighborhood, nor unnecessarily impede residential vehicular or pedestrian traffic during project construction. Open cut and culvert placement operations shall be planned to occur during low flow conditions in Town Branch, and sediment shall be controlled for the duration of construction. Culvert and Drainage Network Replacement: Demolish the existing box culvert under the southern section of Brookwood Circle and replace it with a GDOT standard design box culvert (9' wide x 5' high x 35' long), with associated headwall, wingwall and parapet structures, along with removal of 8 LF of 12" reinforced concrete drainage pipe (RCP) and 16 LF of 24" RCP, construction of a new concrete junction box and 14 LF of 24" RCP, cutting, capping and abandoning an existing active gas main and other pipes believed to be no longer in use but passing through the existing box culvert, and construction of a water main conflict resolution to disconnect and reconnect an existing water main that passes through the project area. Bidder is to review carefully all notes on the plans regarding the unidentified pipes. Paving: Mill and resurface approximately 68 S.Y. of asphaltic concrete along Brookwood Circle from west of the new box culvert to the point of connection with Legion Drive. Erosion and Sediment Control: Construct and maintain approximately 252 L.F. of silt fence sediment barrier (sensitive) and two construction exits, and stabilize all disturbed areas when construction is completed. Parapet Enhancements and Handrails: Construct enhancements to a GDOT standard 2401-2-J 9'-0" x 5'-0" RC Box Culvert, at both ends, to incorporate aluminum handrails and decorative kneewalls
