Architects/engineers for the Combined Laboratories Building Level I & II Study in Cheyenne, WY. Project Description: Provide a Level I Reconnaissance study and a Level II Feasibility study on the existing Combined Laboratories Building in Cheyenne, WY in accordance with Wyoming Statute 9-5-108. The Combined Labs Building was built in 2010 and serves as a crucial centralized laboratories, storage and office space for multiple state agencies. The current facility houses mixed-use labs for the Department of Environmental Quality, the Department of Health, and the Department of Criminal Investigations. The 145,000-square-foot building includes a BSL-3 laboratory. The facility is experiencing significant issues with its mechanical systems, particularly in maintaining proper negative pressure and humidity control across laboratory spaces. As lab equipment, technology and processes have changed over time, building occupants recommend evaluation of space layouts, workspace functionality, building systems and overall efficiency of the building. Additionally, with expanding programs and rapidly advancing technologies, the facility has struggled to keep pace with the State's needs.
