This project involves removing and replacing exterior and interior coating protection for the two existing welded steel tanks as well as minor equipment repairs and replacements at the Washington site. These planned upgrades are not only geared towards enhancing structural integrity but also towards fortifying the tanks against potential seismic events and corrosion through advanced seismic and cathodic protection measures. By ensuring these protective measures are in place, this project aims to significantly prolong the operational lifespan of the Washington tanks. These tanks are an essential part of the City's Zone 1 pressure zone. They service the majority of Petaluma, including both eastern and western portions of the city. As of Sept 3, 2025, this project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
