Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Spring Lake, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
Work in shall consist of concrete curb and sidewalk, pavement milling, repair, construction of hot mix asphalt base and surface course, and other various work. Work includes the following approximate quantities:5,845 linear feet of concrete curb, 610 square yards of concrete sidewalk, 180 square yards of concrete driveway apron, 17,000 square yards of pavement milling, and 2,025 tons of hot mix asphalt material, together with miscellaneous related work items. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond for ten percent of the amount of the bid, not to exceed $20,000, drawn upon an incorporated bank or trust company, payable to the Borough of Spring Lake, as guarantee that in case the contract is awarded the bidder, he will, within ten days thereafter execute such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond. Bids must be accompanied by a certificate from a surety company stating that it will provide the specified performance and maintenance bonds in the event that the contract is awarded to the bidder. Upon failure to do so, he shall forfeit the deposit as a partial satisfaction of liquidated damages and the acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon fullfillment of this requirement by the bidder. The Mayor and Council reserve the right to reject any and all bids, or to waive informality of any bid.
