Yakama Nation--Yakima Klickitat Fisheries Project Wanawish Dam Improvements-Request for Proposals (RFP) The Yakama Nation is requesting proposals for improvements of Wanawish Dam on the Yakima River (Benton County, WA) to develop alternatives that improve irrigation reliability, fish passage, fish harvest, fish monitoring, and. minimize operation and maintenance costs. Wanawish Dam was constructed in 1892 and is located at. river mile 18 on the Yakima River. The facility comprises a low-head diversion dam, fish ladders, and canal headworks on both riverbanks with their associated ancillary features, including fish screening and bypass systems. The Yakama Nation desires to improve fish passage, fish monitoring, and operations at the Wanawish Dam through design and construction/reconstruction of headworks, spillway, a nd fish passage improvements to achieve long-term, multidisciplinary objectives. Davis-Bacon wages apply to this contract. The successful contactor will be required to comply with federal laws and regulations and applicable provisions of the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance and other tribal laws.
