The City of Yakima is requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from professional engineering firms for design and surveying services as needed for the FHWA Highway Safety Improvement Program project involving intersection safety improvements at E. Nob Hill and S. 18th St. The scope of work includes replacement of existing pedestrian pushbutton devices with an Accessible Pedestrian System (APS), repainting or replacing existing stop and crosswalk lines, and replacing non-ADA compliant sidewalks and curb ramps. Work will also involve electrical work, sidewalks, curbing, crosswalks, environmental documentation, and other related activities. Surveying of the area has not yet occurred, but a design concept is available and will be provided. The successful firm may be retained for subsequent project phases. SOQs are limited to twelve pages and must include information on key personnel, firm experience with small PS&E projects, schedule adherence, familiarity with the City of Yakima or similar municipalities, familiarity with WSDOT/FHWA standards, in-house experience, DBE approach and commitment, and past performance/references. SOQs will be evaluated competitively based on these criteria, with scoring and interviews to follow. SOQs must be submitted by the specified deadline and must adhere to the submission instructions provided in the notice. Disadvantaged, minority, and women-owned consultants are encouraged to respond.
