As of October 17, 2025, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the design status. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. The Sugar Forest Drainage Improvements project will be completed in two phases and is aimed at providing flood mitigation in the area surrounding Sugar Forest. Phase I of the project includes building a new pond and stormwater pump station at the City-owned property at Madeline Avenue and Pepperhill Road. The station will pump stormwater through 8,000 feet of pipe to an outfall in the Halifax River.
