As of January 06, 2025, the project was awarded to Fees Trucking & Construction, with an awarded amount of $575,990.98. The County of Stanislaus (County) is seeking bids from qualified and experienced Contractors with valid Class A contractor's license and current DIR registration numbers to provide complete the Drainage Repair Project at the Geer Road Landfill (a closed landfill) located at 750 Geer Road, Modesto, CA 95357. The project involves grading repairs and drainage improvements to the landfill's final cover system. Work includes the installation of approxima2,925 linear feet of 18-inch dual-wall HDPE stormwater pipe, construction of a road crossing with a culvert, and raising the perimeter road. The project will also require importing erosion-resistant soil with a maximum particle size of 1 inch to repair settlement areas, performing slope repairs, placing jute matting, and hydroseeding the affected areas. In total, the project will address drainage issues in nine (9) areas on the landfill deck and repair three (3) slope areas. The Geer Road Landfill is located on the northern bluff of the Tuolumne River in central Stanislaus County. The 167-acre site is jointly owned by Stanislaus County and the City of Modesto. The landfill accepted municipal, and cannery wastes from November 1970 until July 1990. The site operated as an area/trench fill sanitary landfill between 1970 and 1990. An approximate 144-acre footprint was used for refuse disposal, and an estimated 4.5 million tons of municipal solid waste was disposed of at the site. The maximum depth of refuse is estimated to range between 50-60 feet. The Stanislaus County Department of Environmental Resources currently maintains the landfill as a closed facility as more fully described in Part II, Exhibit A.
