Provide services for the installation of a new process equipment chiller and components in the Fiber Innovation Center Building for the new manufacturing equipment currently being installed in the building. Provide services for the installation of a new process equipment chiller and components in the Fiber Innovation Center Building for the new manufacturing equipment currently being installed in the building. The chilled water system will be comprised of the following: o Provide and Install one, 60 ton, air cooled, scroll chiller. o Provide and Install one, 134 gpm, 5 Hp, end suction chilled water pump. o The chilled water pump will be provided with a variable frequency controller (VFC). VFC will be provided for capacity control, soft start characteristics, and diagnostics. o The new chiller will be located outside of the building at the rear of the building on the existing concrete. The chiller shall be located a minimum of 7 ft from the building near the existing double doors of the Reactor Rm or Extruder Rm. o Chilled water main piping will be distributed throughout the Reactor Room and the Extruder Room utilizing mains, tees, valved branches with both shut-off and balancing valves. Risers and final connections to the various pieces of equipment will be done as part of those individual projects. Refer to piping schematic attached for additional information. o The chilled water system will be provided with a pump, 500 gallon, open storage tank large enough to hold the contents of the entire system for maintenance purposes and all strainers, control valves, thermometers and temperature sensors, pressure gauges and sensors, self-contained automatic controls system, and appurtenances for a complete and operable system. The State reserves the right to waive any minor informality or technicality in bids received. Contractor shall furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond executed by a surety company authorized to do business in North Carolina. Question Deadline 11/14/2025 Should the bidder find discrepancies in, or omission from, the drawings or documents or should he be in doubt as to their meaning, he shall at once notify the designer who will send written instructions in the form of addenda to all bidders. Notification should be no later than seven (7) days prior to the date set for receipt of bids. Neither the owner nor the designer will be responsible for any oral instructions.
