Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Quitman, Mississippi. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade bridge / tunnel.
The work consists essentially of the construction of 2 at 40 LF, 1 at 110 LF, and 1 at 40 LF prestressed concrete beam span bridge, grading, drainage, and paving of 0.184 miles of bridge approaches. The contractor is responsible for performing all work and providing all plant, labor, equipment, and materials required by the specifications and drawings. Each bid must be accompanied by a Cashier's Check, Certified Check, or Bidder's Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid, payable to Clarke County as bid security. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope and deposited with the Chancery Clerk prior to the designated hour and date. Bidders choosing electronic submission must contact the Engineer of Record for requirements. Work must be performed according to the Mississippi Standard Specifications for State Aid Road and Bridge Construction, 2004 Edition, with all amendments, special provisions, or addenda. Attention is drawn to the contract provisions on selection and employment of labor, minimum wage rates, and equal opportunity for disadvantaged and women's business enterprises. The County reserves the right to reject irregular proposals and bids.
