The work involves roof replacement at 501 Avondale Ct. under the Critical Repair Program. Bidders must be considerate of homeowners' time and families, with appointments encouraged. Contractors interested in bidding must have a verified application, including all required documentation and credentials, on file with the Community & Housing Development Office. New contractors must meet with the program inspector in person to receive the application packet and discuss program requirements, rules, and expectations. All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope, with the bid number and opening date on the outside. It is the responsibility of the bidder to check for, download, and include any addendums issued. Bids that do not follow these instructions or are improperly marked will be rejected. Pictures are to be provided to real time, prior to home being completed. Third party apps such as Company Cam(R) are acceptable, o Areas that are found to be spaced decked shall be covered with A" exterior grade sheathing material after removing the existing decking, ft is the contractors responsibility to ensure the framing and structure will support the additional load. o Remove existing roofing materials down to bare decking. o Check all rooftrusses/rafters and repairreplace as needed to ensure that new roofstructure is fiat and smooth without rises or depressions in roofsystem Replaced/'repaired decking shall be level and ready to accept felt and shingles. o Check all rooftrusses for strength and stability' before re-shingling house. o Remove all unused elements, vente, etc., that are not operational and close them below roof level. o Re-ilash all valleys, vents, roofopenings, and chimneys. o Install new boots around all roofpenetrations. o Haul away debris immediately. o Use a magnetic sweep around the perimeter ofhouse and rake away any other debris Re-roof with a 30year dimensional class A fiberglass asphalt shingle. (Owners choice of color) (any area deemed to need roll roofing material will be self adhering modified bitumen) cap sheet and (base sheet if needed) install proper metal drip rail for this style roofing. o Shingles must be lsS quality' still in the wrapper. Seconds will not be accepted. o Install drip rail around perimeter of house. Shingles shall have A" to I %" overhang. o Install roof over ridge vent with-in 2ft of end ofridge (end to end). o New roofshall be structurally sound and leak free, including at any attached structures that are adjoined to roof. o Contractor shall warrant the roofto be completely leak free for one year
