Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Joliet, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; and water / sewer project.
Phase III engineering services are required to provide construction engineering for subject improvement. Work includes, but is not limited to, 62R23: replacement of the Des Plaines River Bridges including the realignment and reconstruction of the mainline pavement and related roadway elements, cross-road reconstruction, installation of an enclosed storm sewer system with drainage structures, detention ponds, earth excavation and embankment grading, installation of retaining and noise abatement walls, barrier and moment slab construction, bridge replacement, roadway lighting, ITS implementation, erosion and sediment control, landscaping, traffic control and protection, navigation lighting, traffic signals, detour routing, pavement marking and signing, and other related roadway items required to complete the project as indicated in the contract documentation. 62W52: furnishing the structural steel and bearings for the river bridges. Steel will also need to be stored until it can arrive on-site as part of the Contract (62R23). Steel will be for WB and EB of I-80 (S.N. 099-8309 WB & 099-8325 EB) over the Des Plaines River, CSX Railroad, US-6, as well as several existing and proposed local roads, any incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project.
