The work involves Trailside Nature and Science Center Sensory Trail Drainage Improvements at 452 New Providence Road, Mountainside, New Jersey. Bidders must be classified by the State of New Jersey, Division of Property Management and Construction under classification code No. C008, No. C009, as well as other documentary requirements as set forth in the instructions. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bond of a surety authorized to do business in New Jersey in the amount of ten percent of the total bid amount, not exceeding $20,000, and must include a consent of surety stating that surety will provide the required bonds if the contract is awarded. Bidders shall submit an original and two copies of their bid in a sealed envelope, marked with the project title, bidder's name, address, telephone and fax numbers, and the date of bid opening. Bids must be delivered to the specified address before the stated time. Attendance at the prebid meeting is strongly encouraged but not mandatory. Bidders must comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27. The award or rejection of a contract shall be made within sixty days of the bid opening date, except as otherwise agreed with bidders. The authority reserves the right to reject any bid in accordance with law, including for technical errors.
