Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Pocatello, Idaho. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade sidewalk / parking lot.
The project involves assessing sidewalks and ADA curb ramps in Historic Downtown Pocatello for trip hazards, mobility impairments, accessibility impairments, and other impediments that may inhibit travel along the sidewalk. The contractor is responsible for identifying hazards along sidewalks, non-compliant curb/sidewalk sections or ADA ramps, height of trip hazards, trip hazards that can be ground down to resolve mobility impairments, hazardous sidewalks that need full replacement, and removal of hazards that may be ground down. The contractor must adhere to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and maintain pedestrian access on one side of the street at all times. The project includes repairing identified hazards through grinding and identification of areas for full replacement. Projects will be awarded to the lowest bidder based on total price for assessment and unit price for hazard removal per bid schedule. Bids must include a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive nonmaterial irregularities, and accept the proposal most advantageous to its interests.
