Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Indio, California. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a multi-residential development; and for site work for a multi-residential development.
The selected Developer will be responsible for designing and constructing a high-quality residential project on City-owned land at two possible locations- Miles Avenue and Deglet Noor Street or Indio Blvd and Deglet Noor Street. The development must prioritize sustainability, innovation, and cost-effective construction methods while aligning with the City's goals for downtown revitalization and housing diversity. Key responsibilities include: o Design & Site Planning: Develop any style of single-family, duplex, or triplex units that integrate with the Downtown environment and promote walkability. o Sustainable & Innovative Construction: Must employ creative, eco-friendly building techniques--such as cob, straw bale, or adobe housing--to reduce costs and environmental impact. o Affordability Strategy: Propose a plan to include housing options for low- and moderate-income residents. Proposals demonstrating strong affordability commitments will receive additional consideration. o Project Delivery: Manage all aspects of development, including permitting, financing, construction, and coordination with City staff, while adhering to a clear and efficient project timeline.
