Site work for a water / sewer project in Bridge City, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

This contract shall provide for the construction of approximately 854 LF of 8" gravity sanitary sewer line, rehabilitation of approximately 785 LF of existing 6" sanitary sewer line, the construction of 2 new sanitary sewer manholes, abandonment of 1 existing sanitary sewer manhole, removal of 1 existing sanitary sewer manhole, abandonment of approximately 980 LF of existing 8" sanitary sewer line with flowable grout, and approximately 32 service line replacements. Alternate bid items are also included for the rehabilitation of approximately 397 LF of existing 6" sanitary sewer lines and approximately 463 LF of existing 8" sanitary sewer lines. This contract shall include all necessary superintendence, labor, materials, equipment, tools, piping, field jointing, cleaning, grouting, excavation, trenching, shoring, fill, grading, backfill, surface restoration, connections to existing and proposed sewer lines, service restorations, testing, hauling and disposal of excess soils to an owner approved site, and incidental items necessary for the construction of the proposed facilities as shown in the plans and documented in the specifications. The Contractor is responsible for the restoration of all disturbed surfaces, including pavement. All surfaces shall be returned to original condition or better. All restoration shall be completed before beginning work on the next segment of line, according to the plans and specifications. Prior to the start of construction, the Contractor shall submit a construction schedule to the engineer detailing his anticipated activities with estimated dates for the completion of each activity and section. The Contractor shall be responsible for the startup and testing of each system embraced in this Contract. All systems shall be demonstrated to be functioning at design conditions prior to being considered complete. Where requested or required by the Engineer, the Contractor shall submit test data and certify in writing that the systems tested performed as required by the plans and specifications at design conditions. A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid issued by an acceptable surety company shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Bridge City, Texas or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin The City of Bridge City, Texas reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding and to award the project based on the best bid which best represents the interests of the City of Bridge City, Texas. Bids are to be a unit price basis for all labor and materials to complete the project. Bids may be held by the City of Bridge City, Texas for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. All contractors/subcontractors that are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project. 1. Mobilization; 2. Construct approximately 854 LF of 8" PVC SDR 26 gravity sewer main; 3. Rehabilitate approximately 705 LF of existing 6" sanitary sewer line with 8.625" O.D. (7.55" I.D.) DR 17 HDPE liner pipe by the pipe-bursting method of construction; 4. Remove and replace approximately 80 LF of existing 6" sanitary sewer line with 8.625" O.D. (7.55" I.D.) DR 17 HDPE pipe; 5. Construct 2 new sanitary sewer manholes inside of pavement; 6. Abandon 1 existing sanitary sewer manhole inside of pavement; 7. Remove 1 existing sanitary sewer manhole outside of pavement; 8. Replace approximately 18 short side sanitary sewer service lines; 9. Replace approximately 14 long side sanitary sewer service lines; 10. Abandon approximately 980 LF of existing 8" sanitary sewer line with flowable grout; 11. Remove and replace 218 SY of concrete driveway; 12. Remove and replace 48 SY of asphalt driveway; 13. Provide a trench safety plan; 14. Provide linear trench protection; 15. Provide shoring type trench protection; 16. Construct temporary project sign. B. Supplemental items S1. Construct 4 temporary point repairs on existing sanitary sewer lines to be rehabilitated; S2. Provide bypass pumping as required; S3. Excavate at the end of existing sewer line to be abandoned to allow venting for filling with grout; S4. Provide and install 15" RCP driveway culvert; S5. Provide 2 sack per ton cement stabilized sand. C. Alternate bid items Alternate bid Item No. 1 1. Rehabilitate approximately 397 LF of existing 6" sanitary sewer line with a 6.625" O.D. (5.798" I.D.) DR 17 HDPE liner pipe by the pipe-bursting method of construction; 2. Construct 1 new sanitary sewer manhole outside of pavement; 3. Remove 3 existing sanitary sewer manholes outside of pavement; 4. Restore approximately 5 short side sanitary sewer services on rehabilitated lines; 5. Restore approximately 2 long side sanitary sewer services on rehabilitated lines. Question Deadline 11/27/2025 No oral interpretations will be made to any bidder. Each request for clarification shall be made in writing to the Grant Recipient or engineer no less than seven (7) days prior to the bid opening.
