Renovation of an educational facility in Thomasville, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 16,100-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility; and 38,000-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.
The project involves roof replacement and recovery at Scott Elementary School. The scope of work includes: Replacement of the roof on Building 100 (approximately 38,000 sq ft), which involves removing two existing roof assemblies down to the original zonolite lightweight insulating vermiculite fill over the metal formdeck; installation of a new temporary roof, lightweight insulating cellular concrete (LWIC) fill with insulporm rigid insulation board, and fleece-back single ply membrane adhered to the LWIC. Recovery of roofs on Buildings 200, 201, 202, 300, and 400 Gym (approximately 16,100 sq ft), where a new single ply assembly consisting of rigid insulation board, cover board, and single ply membrane (adhered) will be installed over the existing roof, with the coverboard mechanically attached to the existing structural metal deck. Installation of overflow roof drains and storm drain piping at Building 100. Bids are invited for a general contract (all trades). Bidders are required to submit bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the bid, and no bid may be withdrawn for 60 days after opening. A mandatory prebid conference is required for all bidders. Bidders must be properly licensed and able to obtain necessary bonds and insurance as required for the work.
