Renovation of a mixed-use development in Northport, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.

CR#: 2130073 Replace Kitchen Exhaust Fans at the Northport VAMC at the 200 building. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supplies, and supervision for the replacement of two existing rooftop kitchen exhaust fans at Building 200 located in the Northport VA Medical Center to meet the latest NFPA 101 Life Safety, NFPA 99 Health Care Facilities, VA Design Standards and other applicable state and federal guidelines and regulations in accordance with the Statement of Work, Specifications and Drawings. The project includes the replacement of two existing rooftop kitchen exhaust fans, which are in a deteriorated condition, with new centrifugal exhaust fans having some additional capacity. The exhaust fans serve grease hoods in the Building 200, ground floor kitchen, located in the Northport VA Medical Center. The new exhaust fans' additional capacity will improve flow rates at the existing grease hoods. The project will include modifications to the 10-gauge welded steel ductwork on the roof and roof work to install new roof curb rails that support the new exhaust fans and electrical modifications to provide power to the new exhaust fans. Demolition of Kitchen Exhaust Fans, electrical, duct work, accessories etc. Install new roof curbs. Furnish, rig and install new roof top exhaust fans, appurtenances, spring isolators, welded ductwork etc. All roof demolition and installation must be done by a JM Certified Installer. Air flow testing and measuring required prior to any demolition. Installation of new premanufactured roof rails, blocking, insulation, flashing termination bars, etc.. Scopes/ Divisions available for bid are; Division 2 Demolition, Division 7 Thermal and moisture Protection, Division 23 Heating/ Ventilation AC (HVAC) and Division 26 Electrical. Contract Term: 250 days a. The C&A requirements do not apply, and that a Security Accreditation Package is not required. b. Coordinate all work with basement level kitchen staff. c. Prior to any demolition or new construction, test and record existing air flow rates for existing kitchen exhaust fans XEF-7 and XEF-12. d. Disconnect power from XEF-7. e. Disconnect kitchen exhaust fan EF-7 from existing ductwork. Retain existing duct plenum. f. Demolish existing kitchen exhaust fan EF-7, roof supports, accessories, appurtenances, etc. in their entirety. g. Disconnect power from XEF-12. h. Disconnect kitchen exhaust fan XEF-12 from existing ductwork. Demolish ductwork where indicated, retain remainder of existing ductwork and plenum. i. Demolish existing kitchen exhaust fan XEF-12, roof supports, accessories, appurtenances, etc. in their entirety. j. Install new roof curb rails for new EF-7 and EF-12. k. Rig into place, and install new kitchen exhaust fan EF-7 including accessories, appurtenances, spring isolators (nominal 1-1/2" deflection) on new roof curb rails. l. Reconnect power for EF-7. m. Rig into place, and install new kitchen exhaust fan EF-12 including accessories, appurtenances, spring isolators (nominal 1-1/2" deflection) on new roof curb rails. n. Reconnect power to EF-12. o. Lubricate fan and motor bearings for the new exhaust fans. p. Balance exhaust fans EF-7 and EF-12 to the original flow rates recorded prior to demolition; refer to balancing notes on drawings. q. The existing roofing assembly, installed on building 200, is a peak advantage guaranteed, SBS roofing system manufactured and warranted by Johns Manville (JM). This is a 20-year, no dollar limit warranty that covers the entire roof system of the building 200. All work to be performed on the roof shall be executed to maintain the guarantee in place. Refer to drawings for full requirements to maintain the guarantee. r. All roof demolition and new work shall be performed by a JM certified installer. All new roofing materials shall be JM products in compliance with the roof guarantee's requirements. s. All roof work shall be installed to provide positive drainage to existing roof drains. t. Demolish existing roof curbs and duct supports as noted on drawings. Repair roof to meet or exceed roofing manufactures requirements to maintain the roof guarantee. u. Install new premanufactured roof rails, blocking, insulation, flashing termination bars, etc. as required to maintain the roof guarantee. v. Information Security/Privacy/ Records Management A) This contract does not involve access to VA patient/employee information and does not involve access and/or connection to the VA information system. Magnitude of Construction: Between $250,000 and $500,000. Contract Type: FirmFixed Price. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. No questions will be answered after this date/time unless determined to be in the best interest of the Government as determined by the Contracting Officer.
