The work comprises the modernization of the existing elevator at Ridgetop Middle School, including the installation of a split system air conditioning unit to serve the elevator machine room, and associated plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and fire alarm work needed to support the modernization. The bids must include all work pursuant to the Drawings, Project Manuals, and any Addenda issued prior to the bid opening date. HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical subcontractor work listings are required to be submitted with the bid. Structural Steel & Rebar Installation subcontractor work listings must also be submitted. Bidders must provide a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent of the bid. The successful bidder must furnish a one hundred percent Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bond provided by a surety company acceptable to the owner. No less than fifteen percent of the labor hours shall be performed by apprentices, unless otherwise required by law. There are provisions allowing the owner to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities in the bidding process.
