Sealed bids are requested for the Benicia High School Fields Upgrades project. Bids must be completed using the Proposal Form, follow all requirements, and be responsive to the invitation, plans, specifications, and Contract Documents. Bids must include the name and business location of each subcontractor performing work or providing services in excess of one-half of one percent of the total bid price, with a description of the work to be performed. The successful bidder must pay at least the prevailing wage rates and comply with all Labor Code requirements for apprenticeships and training. Substitution of securities in lieu of retention amounts is allowed. The project is subject to enforcement by the California Department of Industrial Relations if it is a public works project over $25,000 or a maintenance project over $15,000. Bidders are required to provide a bid security equal to 10% of the bid amount. Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids, and the project is subject to Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise requirements. The required contractor license classification is "B". Pre-qualification requirements: Only General Contractors and MEP Subcontractors who have been pre-qualified to bid at Benicia Unified School District are eligible to submit a bid. Each bidder shall possess at the time the bid is awarded a valid California State Contractor's license of the required classification. Attendance at the mandatory bidders' conference is required for bid consideration.
