Site work and new construction of a theater / auditorium in Benicia, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a theater / auditorium; and for site work for a theater / auditorium.

Sealed bids are invited for the Benicia High School Performing Arts Building (PAB). Bids must be completed on the provided Proposal Form and must conform to all requirements, plans, and specifications. Each bid must include a 10% bid guarantee (cash, cashier's or certified check, or surety bond licensed in California) as assurance that the bidder will execute contract documents and provide payment and performance bonds and insurance certificates within ten days of contract award notification. The work is subject to payment of prevailing wages and compliance with apprenticeship or training programs as set by the California Department of Industrial Relations. The wage rates are based on an eight-hour day, with overtime and holidays at a minimum of time and one half. Contractors may substitute appropriate securities in lieu of progress payment retention. The bid must list all subcontractors performing work over 0.5% of the bid. The District may reject any or all bids or waive informalities. Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to participate, and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise requirements apply. Compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations is required for public works projects over $25,000 or maintenance projects over $15,000. Bidders must attend a mandatory bidders' conference at the project site for familiarity with the contract documents and site conditions. Work of this Contract comprises general construction including the modernization of and addition to an existing performing arts building, and site work. Note: The Project Manual and Construction Documents are intended to be complimentary; one does not supersede the other. If discrepancies or conflicts are found within the documents, notify the architect for clarifications. B. Construct the Work under a single Lump Sum Contract Pre-qualification requirements: Only General Contractors and MEP Subcontractors pre-qualified to bid projects at Benicia Unified School District are eligible. Each bidder must possess a California State Contractor's license classification B at the time the bid is awarded. Attendance at the mandatory bidders' conference is required for bid consideration.
