The project involves four prime contracts: Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, and General Construction with ACM Abatement. The purpose is to remove the building from the central heating plant steam loop and provide boilers to supply heating and domestic hot water for the building. The existing boiler room requires removal of existing equipment and installation of boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, and other equipment. A trailer mounted temporary system is to be provided to minimize disruption to heating and hot water services. The project includes providing a second means of egress to meet current code, requiring the cutting of a doorway into the exterior wall and providing an enclosed stairwell out of the basement boiler room. The estimated cost ranges are: CR12 HVAC - $2,000,000 - $2,100,000; CR13 GC & Asbestos Abatement - $240,000 - $270,000; CR14 Electrical - $120,000 - $130,000; CR15 Plumbing - $260,000 - $280,000. The bidder or its principals must have a minimum of five years' experience in similar work and must provide a list of five contracts of similar size, scope, and complexity from the last ten years. Contract Security, EEO/AA Insurance, and the NY State Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire are required. All proposers must comply with New York State business registration requirements. Additional experience and requirements may apply for projects with complex technical specification sections. MWBE and SDVOB goals apply to this project.
