The general nature of the work on which bids are requested is: 1138 Plants, By Count, Trees, 20,484 Watering, By Each; and miscellaneous related work and appurtenances in accordance with the contract documents. PURPOSE 1.1 The City of Marion has been awarded funding to purchase trees and planting supplies and facilitate planting and watering labor through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program to address Disaster Recovery. 2. GOALS 2.1 The goal of this agreement is to complete the installation, establishment, and survival of 1138 trees to be planted within public spaces of Marion city limits and adjacent to streetside rights-of-way (ROW) and parks or city owned property. See attached plan sheets for allowable planting areas 4.1 Qualified contractors shall furnish and install approximately 1138 trees and will be responsible for weekly watering and establishment care for 4 months after the planting installation or until the end of the program timeline. 4.2 Qualified contractors shall supply all labor, materials and necessary equipment for the services purchased on this bid. 4.3 A planting location map is included within the plan set and specific location details shall be provided by the City of Marion upon contractor selection. 4.4 The timeline for program services shall begin upon approval of contract, bonds, and insurances, and will be complete on September 4, 2026. See the notice to bidders for additional information regarding contract timelines. 4.5 Any deviation from the scope of work specification shall require prior written approval by the City Arborist. 4.6 Tree inspection shall be completed by City sta7 prior to planting and any items found to be in non-compliance with the following specifications will be rejected. If an inspection is not performed prior to planting, the awarded vendor shall be required to remove and replace any trees deemed unacceptable by City sta7 during a "Quality Control" check done by City sta7.
