Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for a municipal facility in Marion, Iowa. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; and for asbestos abatement for a municipal facility.
Please see the Appendix A - Supplemental Scope of Work for additional information. Work requested is to demolish all structures located at 107 35th Street. The east building's north and east foundation walls are to remain to service as a retaining wall. Existing retaining walls on the site are to remain. Building contains asbestos and requires abatement, see attached asbestos report. Contract shall commence upon approval of contract and insurance. Contract shall terminate upon acceptance of the project at Marion City Council. Work shall be completed by May 1, 2026. If the Contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, a penalty charge of one-half percent (1/2 %) of the contract price shall be assessed for each day the project remains uncompleted. Quotes may be withdrawn at any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipt of quotes, but no quote may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) calendar days thereafter. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all quotes; to request new or revised quotes; to award quotes item-by-item, by groups or lump sum; and to waive technicalities and formalities where is it deemed advisable in protection of the best interests of the City.
