Demolition and site work for a water / sewer project in Syracuse, New York. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project.
**As of March 20, 2026, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The project consists of the replacement of the main high-voltage electrical substation at the Metropolitan Syracuse Wastewater Treatment Plant (Metro WWTP). This includes the replacement of disconnects, circuit breakers, surge arresters, transformers, and medium-voltage switchgear; demolition of the existing Carpenter Shop; installation of a new structural foundation and piles; hazardous material abatement; demolition of the existing substation area; completion of related site work; and restoration of the existing substation area to a topsoiled area. Bidders are responsible for reviewing all contract documents and must obtain and register as official plan holders to be eligible to bid. A Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) utilization goal of 18% and a Women Business Enterprise (WBE) utilization goal of 12% have been established for the project. All contractors and subcontractors must register with the New York State Department of Labor and submit a Certificate of Registration with their bid. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, certified check, or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, and a Statement of Surety's Intent must also be provided. The contractor will need to provide a Performance and Payment Bond for 100% of the contract amount. Sales and compensating use taxes should not be included for materials to be incorporated into the project and sold to the municipality prior to incorporation.
