Renovation of an educational facility in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Greater Nanticoke Area School District is soliciting bids for Asbestos Abatement at the Old Lincoln Elementary School located at 615 Kosciuszko Street, Nanticoke, PA 18634. Bids are to be received for the prime contract of Asbestos Abatement. All bids should be enclosed in sealed envelopes, clearly labeled with the contract and name, the name and Prime Contract Number being bid on, the name of the bidder, and the date and time of bid opening. Bids must comply with the bidding requirements specified in the Instructions to Bidders. Facsimile bids will not be accepted. Bids must remain firm for sixty (60) days following the opening. Each contractor and sub-contractor must be licensed in the community where the work will occur. A Bid Bond payable to the Greater Nanticoke Area School District in the amount of 10% of each Base Bid must accompany each bid. Upon execution of the contract, a Performance and Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price is required. The successful Bidder must file a Stipulation Against Mechanic's Liens prior to starting work. The Owner may waive informalities in Bids but is not obligated to do so and reserves the right to reject any and all Bids. Bonding companies for Performance and Payment Bonds must be listed in the U.S. Treasury Circular No. 570. The Owner-Contractor Agreement will use the Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Contractor, AIA Document A101, 2017 edition. Retainage of 10% will be withheld for each request for payment until the Contract is 50% completed; at 50% completion, no further retainage will be withheld, but previously withheld retainage will not be released until completion and approval by the Architect. Contractors must be making satisfactory progress and have no specific cause for greater withholding. The project must be completed in (2) separate phases. Phase 1 is the interior work and can begin as soon contract is signed and 10-day notification is received. Phase 2 cannot start until the cell towers are removed from the roof and a building demolition contract is awarded. Window abatement to happen prior to the building demolition and must be coordinated with demolition contractor.
