Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Melrose, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for the construction of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; fire / police facility; fire / police facility; fire / police facility; and water / sewer project.

Project Requesting sealed Bids for General Contractors and Subcontractors for construction of a new 27,000 SF Police station building . Along with the construction of the new all electric LEED Certified building, work includes: demolition of the existing concrete and masonry school building structure, complete site redevelopment and utilities infrastructure work, complete new E911 / police dispatch center; detainee processing, detention, monitoring areas; secure evidence storage areas construction in and along West Foster St. The construction duration is approximately 16 - 18 months. Contractor Qualification DCAMM Certificate Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Sub Bid Category Masonry, Misc. Metals, WD & C, Roofing & Flashing, Metal Windows, Glass & Glazing, ACT, Tile, Resilient Flooring, Painting, Elevators, Fire Protection, Plumbing, HVAC, & Electrical. The project includes the demolition of the existing Beebe School and construction of a new police station. The building will include areas that are both 1 and 2 stories high. The spaces include garages, detention area, dispatch center, meeting spaces, administrative offices, fitness room, locker rooms, and utility spaces. The site will include two parking lots on both the east and west sides of the building. 1. The project building area is approximately 27,190 square feet. 2. The project site area is approximately 70,611 square feet. 3. The preliminary estimated project construction cost is approximately $ 27 million.
