The Melrose Fire Engine 2 project includes demolition of existing two bay fire station and construction of a new, 23,877 sf fire station, located at 204 Tremont St. The building will include areas that are both 1 and 2 stories high as well as a mezzanine level. The spaces include: three apparatus bays with support spaces including decontamination areas, turn out gear locker room, and self-contained breathing apparatus room, a single maintenance bay with supporting office and workspace, lobby area with display of an antique fire truck, meeting spaces, dispatch room, fitness room, kitchen and day room area, training deck, and dorms.
