Project has been cancelled The Colorado Veterans Community Living Centers provide holistic skilled nursing care to honor and serve our nation's veterans, their spouses and Gold Star Parents by creating opportunities for meaningful activity, continued growth and feelings of self-worth in resident-centered long-term care and supportive living environments. These Community Living Centers are located at Fitzsimons (Aurora), Rifle, Bruce McCandless (Florence), and Homelake. The Veteran Community Living Center's vision is that all residents experience compassion, dignity and companionship in communities filled with life, love and laughter. This project consists of the removal and replacement of the existing shingle roof areas at the Colorado Veterans Community Living Center building. The buildings are the main building and training building. Steep Slope Shingle Roofs: Demolition: o All existing shingles and associated felts to be removed and disposed. o All loose or delaminated self-adhered underlayment's to be reviewed and repaired as necessary to meet the requirement as outlined by the 2024 IEBC - Section 705.2. o All loose nails/fasteners within the deck substrate used for shingle or underlayment attachment are to be removed and disposed. o All existing sheet metal mechanical curb sleeves and penetration boot sleeves to be removed and disposed. o All gutters, gutter hangers, downspouts, headwall and sidewall counter flashings to be removed and disposed. Proposed Installation: o Clean and prepare the existing deck substrate for installation of new materials. o Install new roofing felt underlayment across the full surface of deck substrate in a shingle fashion. o Install new edge metal along all eave and rake locations prior to shingle installation. o Install a new continuous shingle "starter course" along all eave and rake edges of the building. o Install new Architectural shingles with associated shed roof vent spacers, vented ridge cap, hip, and closed valley shingles to match like-in-kind of existing shingles. New vented ridge caps will be required at all steep slope roof areas. o Install new seamless K-style gutters, gutter hangers, and downspouts at all eave locations. o Install new head-wall counter flashings to match existing.
