Union County School District is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to remove the existing gymnasium floor system and furnish and install a new athletic gymnasium floor system. The successful contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and coordination necessary to deliver a complete, fully operational gym floor suitable for interscholastic athletics and school use. Bids must be submitted in a sealed package with the solicitation number and opening date visible on the exterior. Offers must include one original, three copies marked COPY, and one digital copy on a flash drive. Questions must be received by the following email address:tbarnado@union.k12.sc.us, no later than January 27, 2026 @ 12:00 PM EXISTING CONDITIONS - o Existing gym floor system includes finished athletic flooring and underlying subfloor components. o Contractor shall verify all site conditions prior to commencing work. o Any discrepancies affecting scope, cost, or schedule shall be reported to UCSD immediately. o Images of existing floor: A. Demolition and Removal The Contractor shall: 1. Remove and properly dispose of the entire existing gym floor system, including surface flooring, subfloor systems, fasteners, and adhesives. 2. Protect walls, doors, bleachers, scoreboards, and fixed equipment during demolition. 3. Maintain dust control and remove debris daily. 4. Dispose of all materials in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. B. Subfloor Inspection and Preparation The Contractor shall: 1. Inspect the concrete slab or structural subfloor following demolition. 2. Grind, level, and prepare surfaces to meet manufacturer installation tolerances. 3. Conduct moisture testing and provide mitigation as required by the proposed floor system. 4. Identify and report structural or moisture-related deficiencies. C. New Gymnasium Floor System The Contractor shall furnish and install a complete athletic floor system that: 1. Includes a shock-absorbing or cushioned subfloor and finished athletic surface. 2. Meets or exceeds applicable ASTM, MFMA, NCAA, and NFHS standards. 3. Is suitable for basketball, volleyball, physical education, assemblies, and multipurpose use. 4. Is installed strictly in accordance with manufacturer specifications. D. Finishing, Striping, and Logos The Contractor shall: 1. Sand, seal, and finish the athletic floor with approved finishes. 2. Apply all required game lines, boundary markings, and logos as specified by UCSD. 3. Submit layout drawings and color samples for approval prior to striping. E. Transitions and Accessories The Contractor shall: 1. Install transition strips at doorways and flooring interfaces. 2. Adjust, reinstall, or replace floor-mounted athletic accessories as required. 3. Ensure final elevations align with adjacent surfaces. F. Cleanup and Closeout The Contractor shall: 1. Remove all construction debris from the site. 2. Perform final cleaning of the gymnasium floor. 3. Deliver warranties, maintenance manuals, and closeout documentation.
