Reference Number 0000409101 Bid Intent Not Available Estimated Project Cost: $2,600,000 This solicitation is for the Mines Recreation Center HVAC replacement design planning for a multi-year phased replacement of end-of-life equipment. The Mines REC Center, a 76,500 square foot facility, originally built in 2006, has five HVAC zones with 372 tons of capacity, humidification and ventilation requirements for sports arenas, and a competition pool facility. The initial phase 1 design will be for the Lockridge Arena zone 2 with 138 tons capacity that has direct and indirect evaporative cooling and humidification. Structural engineering will be required for evaluation of weights for new equipment, snow loads, solar panel loads, and event lighting suspended below the roof of Lockridge Arena. Future phases are planned to replace HVAC systems in other zones across the building as funding is available to proceed with design that will require design teams to include Mechanical, Electrical, and Structural engineering for each phase. The design teams pre-qualified in this solicitation process will also be pre-qualified and eligible for future phases as they are funded. The Colorado School of Mines anticipates using a Design / Bid / Build (DBB) approach to project delivery.
