Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and road / highway.
The proposed public improvement known as 6th Street SW Railroad Crossing Improvements generally consists of installation of curb and gutter and removal of existing guardrail, ADA sidewalk improvements, traffic signing improvements, installation of PCC median, asphalt milling, minor grading, seeding, and pavement markings. Bids/quotes shall be on a Unit Price basis. The contractor is required to provide performance and payment bonds, each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price. All contractors and subcontractors are responsible for pre-employment drug screening of prospective employees and must have in place a drug and alcohol testing policy that conforms to the requirements of Iowa Code. Preferences will be given, to the extent lawfully required, to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor. The City of Cedar Rapids reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and technicalities, and to enter into contracts as deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
