The project consists of two schedules: Schedule 'A' involves existing asphalt pavement surface preparation (including asphalt patching, crack sealing, pavement grinding), ADA curb ramp upgrades (including minor geometry revisions), hot mix asphalt overlay paving, painted lane striping, and other pavement markings. Schedule 'B' involves the construction of a roundabout, which includes removal of existing pavements and base course, site grading, storm drain retrofit, installation of a center island with truck apron, splitter islands, bicycle ramps, installation of geotextile fabric, base and top course, hot mix asphalt paving, painted and plastic lane striping, and other pavement markings. The work must be completed within 65 working days. Instructions to bidders: Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided within the Contract Provisions, accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a surety bond, postal money order, cash, cashier’s check, or certified check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes addressed to the City of Cheney Director of Public Works and received no later than the specified deadline. Failure to provide the required bid bond in compliance with the prescribed form will result in rejection of the bid. The City of Cheney reserves the right to waive irregularities or informalities and to reject any or all bids. No bidder may withdraw their bid after submission or before the contract award, unless the award is delayed for more than sixty days.
