Renovation of an educational facility in Cheney, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Estimated Base Bid Cost Range: $1,000,000 To $2,000,000 The project generally consists of the upgrade and modernization of the Boiler Control Systems in the existing EWU Rozell Central Energy Plant, including, but not limited to, the demolition & removal of the existing plant control systems, the installation of new Boiler Control Systems, including programming, start-up, testing and training, as well as the replacement and/or installation of select associated instrumentation, and wiring.Mandatory 15% apprentice labor hours of the total labor hours are a requirement of the construction contract. Voluntary workforce diversity goals for this apprentice participation are identified in the Instructions to Bidders and Supplemental Conditions. Bidders may contact the Department of Labor & Industries, Apprenticeship Section, to obtain information on available apprenticeship programs. In accordance with RCW 39.30.060, the Bidder is required to provide the names of the Subcontractors with whom the Bidder will directly subcontract for the performance of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing and electrical for this project. Voluntary MWBE goals of 10% minority, 4% women, and 3% veteran-owned business have been established for this project. Achievement of the goals is encouraged. However, no minimum level of MWBE participation is required and such goals will not be used as a criterion for selecting contractors. EWU is an affirmative action employer. This Bid is subject to Washington State Law, Eastern Washington University regulations, procedures and policies, as they exist or may hereafter be amended. The State of Washington, Eastern Washington University, acting through the Construction and Planning Services office, reserves the right to reject any and/or all proposals, and to waive bidding informalities.
