Site work for a development in Colville, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a conservation development.

This firm-fixed-price contract requires tree thinning and hand piling services for silvicultural purposes to increase tree health and vigor, and to help create conditions that will lower the intensity of potential wildfires. Areas will be treated by hand thinning, hand piling, lopping, and scattering of slash as described in the Performance Work Statement and detailed in attached unit maps. Tree thinning will involve cutting less desirable tree species and retaining those that exhibit good growth characteristics such as vigorous growth, no signs of disease, and good position in the canopy. Hand piling of contractor-created thinning slash will be required in some units to mitigate fuel loadings and potential fire control and intensity along or near roads, fences, property boundaries, select trees or other improvements. The contractor must develop a plan of operation to accomplish the resource objectives and organize and direct all required equipment and personnel. The contractor must furnish all technical expertise, labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals necessary to complete the work requirements, except for items listed as Government-Furnished property, if any. The contractor is required to develop a Quality Control Plan for government review and approval. Bidders are advised to visit the work sites to determine the average cut trees per acre before submitting their priced Schedule of Items. Determining the range of trees to be cut per acre and the amount of work is the responsibility of the contractor. Address all questions concerning this solicitation to Brian A.
