The extent of work on this project is the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of improvements generally described as follows: This project will include approximately 1556 Linear Feet (LF) PCC curb and gutter replacement, 3376 Tons Asphalt Overlay Surface Course, 363 Tons Asphalt Overlay Intermediate Course, 86 Tons Asphalt Overlay 3/8" Mix Intermediate Course, 283 Tons Asphalt Surface Course, 2258 Square yards (SY) 7" Reinforced PCC Full Depth Patching, Intake Adjustments, Manhole Adjustments, Sidewalk Reconstruction, Traffic Control and other miscellaneous work withing the City of West Des Moines, Iowa Instructions to bidders include: - Bids must be submitted electronically using the City's form through wdm.ionwave.net. - Bids must be accompanied by a scanned copy of a bid bond or cashier's/certified check for 10% of the total bid amount, from an Iowa bank or a U.S. chartered bank. - If a bid bond is submitted, it must be on the provided form. The successful low bidder must submit a physical copy of bid security to the City Clerk's Office within 48 hours of the bid deadline. - The bid security must be payable to the City and free of conditions. - The successful bidder must enter into a contract at bid prices and provide performance and payment bond (100% of contract price) and guarantee of maintenance surety for four years after acceptance. - Preference is given to Iowa products, coal, and labor. Certain Iowa statutory preferences apply regarding resident and nonresident bidders. - Failure to submit a completed Bidder Status Form may result in rejection of the bid.
