A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The City of Fort Scott, Kansas, is requesting cost proposals from qualified contractors for the reconstruction of failed rubble stone retaining walls along a drainage channel bordered by existing buildings to the east and west at approximately 1402 E. Wall St. The work includes reconstruction of a failed rubble stone retaining wall approximately 30 feet in length and 5 feet in height on the west side, and reconstruction of a failed rubble stone retaining wall in an area approximately 5 feet by 10 feet on the east side, totaling a minimum of 200 square feet of reconstructed retaining wall. All site conditions must be verified by the contractor. Proposals must include a lump sum cost for the first 200 square feet, unit cost per additional square foot, description of materials, identification of subcontractors, estimated project duration, anticipated start and completion dates, inclusions and exclusions, and must remain valid for a minimum of thirty (30) days. All work must comply with City ordinances, Kansas statutes, and recognized construction standards. Contractors must provide proof of required insurance and demonstrate experience with similar masonry or stone retaining wall projects. Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope or electronically, clearly marked for the project, by the stated deadline. Proposals will be evaluated based on price, completeness, materials, qualifications, schedule, and responsiveness. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive informalities, and accept the proposal deemed in the best interest of the City.
