Site work for a development in Hilo, Hawaii. Completed plans call for site work for a development.
The objective is to protect and preserve land in the Pu'u Maka'ala NAR by preventing the ingress of feral ungulates onto the property. By excluding ungulates, we will protect the irreplaceable watershed and unique native ecosystems, as well as the rare and endangered species it supports. The project area is owned by the State of Hawai'i and managed by DOFAW. In Pu'u Maka'ala NAR, approximately 3.75 miles, or 19,800 linear feet (LF) of fence will be replaced/constructed. After the PO has been approved and the required bonds received, DOFAW will issue a Notice to Proceed to the Contractor and work on that fence section may begin. For every Linear Footage requisitioned by the State via PO, the Contractor will have six (6) months to complete. The State has the discretion to allow extensions if the bidder submits requests in writing at least 30 days prior to the end of the six (6) month period.
