Sealed bids will be received for roof top units at Taft School in Harvey, Illinois and Coolidge Middle School in Phoenix, Illinois, specifically for HVAC improvements. Bids must be submitted on the forms provided and accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check payable to School District 151 in the amount of not less than five percent of the total proposal. The Contractor and its subcontractors must pay prevailing wage rates as established by the Illinois Department of Labor and comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and the Illinois Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act. A performance and payment bond equal to one hundred percent of the contract, with approved sureties, is required. The bond must guarantee faithful performance under the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and payment of all debts incurred in the execution of the work. Sufficient insurance against claims for damages due to negligence during construction is required. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Access to bidding documents is available through the office of the Architect, and the Architect may refuse to issue documents to unqualified persons or firms.
