The Town of Fairfax is requesting lawn care bids for the 2026 season (through Nov. 1). Both mowing and trimming/weed whacking is required normally on a weekly basis at the following locations: 1. 12 Buck Hollow Rd. (Town Offices) with weed whacking the ditch (lawn to roadside) required bi-weekly. 2. 1210 Main St (Community Center) 3. Community Corner Park (corner of Main and Maple St.) 4. 15 Goodall St. (Fire Station) 5. 142 Hunt St. (Sewer Plant) 6. Fletcher Rd. Water Treatment Building fenced area (accessed behind 169 Fletcher Rd.) Mowing and trimming of cemeteries is less frequent and is as follows (map available online at Fairfax-vt.gov/bids): 1. Beaver Cemetery - Farm Rd off RT104 mow and trim around stones from side of road to property line in the back (north side) bordered by pine trees, right (east side) bordered by cedar trees, left (west side) bordered by a step bank. Twice per month June through August. Monthly in Sept. and Oct. Total 10 times. 2. Kingsbury/Hibbard - RT104 (2860 Main St) mow and trim around stone as well as mowing 7’ to 8' outside of cemetery on north, east and west sides as far back as possible on south side. Mow a strip from driveway to cemetery along edge of meadow for access. Monthly May through Sept. Total 5 times. 3. Safford Cemetery - Buck Hollow Rd mow and trim from Buck Hollow Rd to backside of cemetery (fence line). Mow to the tree line on the left and right side of cemetery. May to August 15th once a week then every other week. Total 17 times. 4. Spafford Cemetery- Maxfield Rd (off from Goose Pond Rd) mow and trim cemetery as well as 1' beyond border fence of cemetery. Twice per month June through August. Monthly in Sept. and Oct. Total 10 times. 5. Mudgett Cemetery - Off from Fletcher Rd mow and trim all of cemetery and 5' to 6' in front beyond the fence toward the meadow (mow/trim 1' beyond other sides). Twice per month June through August. Monthly in Sept. and Oct. Total 10 times.
