Site work and paving for a civil project in Bath, Maine. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
The Project includes the replacement of storm drain and trench patching on approximately 400 feet of State Road, 400 feet of Pine Hill Drive, and 100 feet of West Street. It also includes replacement of storm drain and pavement on Richardson Street from State Road to Redlon Road (about 500 feet), and replacement and construction of storm drain, disconnection of catch basins from sewer, and replacement of pavement and base aggregate on Richardson Street from Redlon Road to High Street (about 1,600 feet). Additional work includes reconstruction of the Lilac and Richardson Street intersection, and construction of a cross-country storm drain between Richardson Street and Western Avenue. The project must achieve substantial completion within 396 days and final completion within 426 days from Notice to Proceed. Work must begin no later than June 1, 2026. Liquidated damages are $500 per calendar day. A pre-bid conference will be held as specified, but attendance is not mandatory. substantial completion by July 2, 2027, and final completion no later than August 2, 2027. Location: The Work locations include, but are not limited to, locations within the right-of-ways on the following streets and easements in the City of Bath. 1. State Road 2. Richardson Street 3. Lilac Street 4. Pine Hill Drive 5. Evergreen Street 6. West Street 7. High Street 8. Western Avenue 9. Cross country from Richardson Street to Western Avenue 10. Cross country at the end of Pine Hill Drive B. Work Included: The Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. New Storm Drain System: a. Storm drains, outfalls and culverts b. Drain manholes and catch basins c. Storm drain and catch basin laterals d. Removal and disposal or abandonment of existing drain manholes, catch basins and catch basin laterals e. Existing flow management/ bypass pumping for installation of new storm drain pipes, catch basins, and manholes 2. Sewer Separation: Testing of sanitary sewers, water mains, valves and manholes for proper installation and performance. 3. All related site work including trench excavation, ledge excavation, groundwater dewatering, disposal of excess excavated materials, filter fabric, bedding, backfill, compaction, road/drive subbase, paving, loam/seed and landscaping. 4. Other miscellaneous work shown in the Specifications for a complete and operational system. C. Removals, Relocations and Rearrangements 1. Examine the existing site for the work of all trades which will influence the cost of the work under the bid. This work shall include removals, relocations and rearrangements which may interfere with, disturb or complicate the performance of the work under the general bid involving systems, equipment and related service lines, which shall continue to be utilized as part of the finished project. The Contractor is responsible for all coordination in this regard. 2. Provide in the bid a sufficient amount to include all removals, relocations, rearrangements and reconnections herein specified, necessary or required to rovide approved operation and coordination of the combined new and existing systems and equipment. 3. Provide in the bid a sufficient amount to include all temporary facilities required to maintain flows during the construction period, including bypass pumping, temporary piping, temporary metering, etc. The cost shall include the cost for all labor, tools, equipment and materials necessary.
