Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Oley, Pennsylvania. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The County of Berks will retain a PennDOT qualified engineering consultant to provide environmental studies, preliminary engineering, final design, right-of-way acquisition services, and construction consultation for the rehabilitation of the Greisemer’s Mill Covered Bridge, County Bridge #58A, Spangsville Road over Manatawny Creek in Oley Township, Berks County. The rehabilitated structure will meet current PennDOT design and safety standards and will be constructed in accordance with PennDOT Publication 408 while providing a context-sensitive design approach. Design and construction funding will be 100% Act 89 ($5 Fee for Local Use). Responses are encouraged from small firms, minority firms, and firms who have not previously performed work for the County. The following factors will be considered during evaluation of statements of interest: specific experience of individuals proposed for the project team (40%), consultant’s overall design experience and approach (25%), project manager's experience with historic covered bridge rehabilitation (20%), and plan for project delivery related to schedule and budget (15%). Instructions to bidders: The consultant and any subconsultants must be a PennDOT ECMS Registered Business Partner. Eligible firms should submit one hard copy and one electronic copy of a statement of interest. The submission must include: a concise project narrative (5 pages max.), Standard Forms 254 and 255, resumes of key people, project references (minimum of 5), list of subconsultants (with their SF 254, SF 255, references, and workload statements), a design schedule, and a statement of current and anticipated workload for the proposed team.
