Renovation of a military facility in Richmond, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
The project requires removing the existing damaged concrete foundation and brick BBQ grill behind DSCR Building 66 and replacing both with new structures that restore structural integrity, functionality, and visual appearance. Work includes dismantling and disposing of the current brick BBQ grill, with the option to reuse demolished brick if approved by the FRIE Project Manager, and saw-cutting and removing the existing 7.5' x 10' x 10" concrete slab without disturbing the adjacent pavilion foundation. After demolition, the contractor must secure the area, clear and level the site, compact the native soil, install a minimum 6-inch sub-base of crusher run or dense grade aggregate in 3-inch lifts, and compact a minimum 6-inch layer of #57 stone in 3-inch lifts. A new 8.5' x 12' x 1'-6" concrete slab-on-grade foundation must be constructed using 4000 psi concrete and #6 grade 60 reinforcing steel at 12 inches on center each way, with a standard broom finish and a top-of-slab elevation matching the existing pavilion foundation. An expansion joint must be installed where the existing slab was cut. The contractor will build a new brick BBQ grill in accordance with UFC 3-110-03, ensuring at least 1 foot of clearance between the grill and the slab edge, and incorporating features such as a firebox, chimney, and grill grates consistent with the original design. All debris must be properly disposed of, and all work must comply with applicable regulations and construction standards. **Location:** Defense Supply Center Richmond 8000 Jefferson Davis Highway, Richmond, VA 23297 Period of Performance: 90 days from Notice to Proceed MAGINITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION In accordance with FAR Part 36.204(b), the estimated Magnitude of Construction for this contract is between $25,000 and $100,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
